Working with Glass Block. I waited too long to clean mortor. Cleaning tips?
I put a small 16 "X32" Glass block window in my bathroom. This is the first time I worked with glass blocks and I am afraid that I expected long for my final cleaning mortar. It is hard as a rock and I'm not bad on the face of glass. The sponge has been shredded by the mortar. Is what I can do to clean the mortar and just do it between the lines of grout? Or will I have to rip the glass out and start and chalk on it to learn? The DIY thank you! I found that scratching with a flathead screwdriver is allowing me to reduce the grout lines and get chunks, leaving much less for cleaning. Thank you for the advice guys (and gal!) More details. The flathead screwdriver worked great. The sponge grout was worthless, but then I started to use a green carpet of brush that I use to clean the dishes and it worked great. It is all now clean. Thank you all for your advice.
Try a razor blade.
